Abstract Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) technology is currently used to effectively reduce NO x emissions for diesel engines. The present study aims at building a three-dimensional numerical model evaluate the conversion efficiency and NH 3 slip in an SCR system, reducing time resources necessary design development process. A of system has been built integrate species transport, heat transfer flow characteristics along with kinetics chemical reactions. In order systematically simulate situations where concentration inlet not uniform, different profiles have by using Multivariate Gaussian Distribution considering maximum locations. effect geometries distribution on studied. behaviour temperatures explored reaction rates monolith analysed. extended studying /NO ratios provide more complete comparison between designs. found useful take into account many aftertreatment parameters during maximize modifying ratio while minimizing slip, providing comprehensive tool optimization geometrical system.
